Brother Rice Football Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

Brother Rice High School is pleased to announce that two student-athletes from the 2017 football team have signed letters of intent.

Nick Marozas signed with Indiana University. Marozas is a 6’5” 275 pound offensive tackle from Christ the King Parish in Chicago. He was a two-year starter, one of the varsity team captains this year, and made All Catholic League and the Southown All Area First Team.

“Nick has tremendous potential with his size and athleticism,” said Head Coach Brian Badke, “He will compete for playing time in the very near future at IU.”

John Richardson also signed a letter of intent with Northern Illinois University. Richardson is a 5’11” 175 pound kicker/punter from St. Michael Parish in Orland Park. He is a three-year varsity starter who broke several records. Richardson has the state record for most consecutive extra points made in a row (101 points), made All Catholic League, and received Honorable Mention All-State.

Coach Badke had high praise for Richardson: “Johnny had a great career at BR.  He’s is one of the best kickers to come out of Illinois in a long time. NIU did a great job keeping him close to home and they plan on him competing for the job right away.”

Congratulations to both Crusaders as they make their way to the collegiate football arena.
