Brother Rice Seeks Junior Varsity Cheerleading Coach

Brother Rice High School is currently seeking a junior varsity cheerleading coach for the 2018-19 school year. Applicants must be able to fulfill the requirements for this position listed below. Duties and Requirements:

  1. Head coach will plan, organize, and direct junior varsity program.  Works closely with varsity coach to ensure continuity between both teams
  2. Attend and orchestrate practice twice per week in the evenings (June-February)
  3. Attend all home and away football games during fall football season
  4. Attend all home and away basketball games during winter basketball season (November-February)
  5. Attend and monitor choreography camp during June (3 days)
  6. Maintain records of attendance, financial payments, and health forms of cheerleaders
  7. Be knowledgeable in the skills of tumbling and safety protocols; report and document injuries to school trainer
  8. Supervise approved fundraising projects and work with administration to ensure compliance
  9. Have knowledge of IHSA rules and regulations for the sport and adhere with all coaching requirements
  10. Be knowledgeable and current in the skills of cheerleading
  11. Must be ASEP approved or similar
  12. Coach must go through a Brother Rice background check, fingerprinting, and be Virtus trained through the Archdiocese of Chicago
  13. Coach must complete and pass the IHSA online training and testing for concussion protocol and Performance Enhancement Substances
  14. Coach reports directly to the Athletic Director
  15. Coach is a mandated reporter of child abuse and as such is subject to all of Brother Rice’s child protective policies
