Mitch Weiler to Compete in Prestigious USA Volleyball Camp

Mitch WeilerCongratulations to junior Mitch Weiler, who will be competing in the prestigious High Performance Holiday Camp over the Christmas break.

Holiday Camp programs are hosted by USA Volleyball High Performance from December 26 – December 30 of each year. The 48-athlete boys’ camp is offered in southern California each December. Holiday Camp participation is offered by invitation only, and invitations are extended only to the athletes in each age group who have been identified as the top volleyball players in the country in their respective position.

Most players for these camps come from our National Teams, A1, and A2 Programs, although some invitations will go to the top players at A3 camps, as determined by summer program evaluations.  Athletes who did not participate in a summer program are also eligible. Holiday Camps are a very high level camp and feature some of the very top level coaches in the HP Coaches’ Pipeline.

“All of us at Brother Rice are very proud of Mitch for his selection to the USA Volleyball 2012 High Performance Holiday Camp which is being held in San Diego, California this year,” said Brother Rice head volleyball coach Br. Paul Ickes.  “Among other things, this honor means that Mitch has been identified as a top junior year high school volleyball player in the entire country by USA Volleyball- the National Governing Body for volleyball in the United States.  I am confident the camp and the experience to compete with the very best in the country will further enhance Mitch’s abilities as a player.”
